What is 2FA?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring not only your password, but also a one-time code from an authenticator app on your phone. This makes it much harder for anyone else to access your account, even if they know your password.
Why does 2FA matter?
Passwords alone are weak. They can be guessed, stolen, or leaked in data breaches. 2FA dramatically reduces the risk of unauthorized access, making it much harder for attackers to break in. Whether you’re protecting personal emails, online banking, or a company’s cloud data, 2FA is one of the most effective security measures available.
Setting up 2FA
2FA can be enabled by your Organisation's administrator. If it is enabled, all users associated the organisation must use 2FA to access their account.
Ovida supports 2FA using authentication apps only.
When signing in for the first time, users will be presented with a screen with a QR code. Scanning this with their preferred authentication app will automatically generate a 2FA link, which they will subsequently use for all logins.
How two-factor authentication works
Enter your email and password as usual
When prompted, open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or another supported app).
In your app, you’ll see a one-time code that refreshes every 30 seconds.
Type the code into the login screen to confirm it’s really you.
You can elect to remember the current browser instance for up to 30 days.
