Study after study has proven that coaching delivers results. And great coaching delivers exceptional results. The reason is the unique coaching process - which is theoretically simple, but incredibly hard to master. The insights, skills and patterns of communication that underpin coaching often run counter to our natural instincts to help, to advise, to judge, to tell. For a coach, advancing their skills requires constant study, reflection, and personal challenge - a journey into the self.

Because coaching is a solitary practice, delivered without peers or bosses to watch and guide, it is exceptionally hard for coaches to get feedback, or to see their practice in an objective light. Coachees who re-watch even small segments of the recording of their session even days afterwards report experiencing a strong reconnection with the experiences of the session. A significant proportion of coachees also report experiencing "secondary insights" when watching key moments from a session. The way we process new or challenging paradigms means that we often do not fully internalise the implications at the moment we achieve the insight. However, if we are able to return to the moment later (for example, by watching the video) we are able to more effectively process and internalise the new paradigm. This secondary insight is linked to significantly improved outcomes for clients.
