As a guest in a meeting, you have the option to discard the recording immediately after it ends. This means you’re not only participating in the meeting but also have a say in what happens to the recording afterwards. If you choose to discard, the recording is permanently deleted and will not be processed - ensuring that any sensitive or confidential information remains private.
This feature gives both hosts and guests shared control over their meeting data. It’s a simple but powerful way to protect privacy, reinforce trust, and make sure that every meeting is handled with clear consent.
Why it matters?
This feature is designed with privacy and trust at its core. It ensures that no meeting is ever processed without the agreement of all participants. By giving guests the ability to discard a recording, we add an extra layer of transparency and accountability:
Consent first: A meeting will only be processed if neither participant discards it.
Transparency: An audit trail records whether a host or guest approved or discarded the recording.
Privacy: If discarded, the meeting is permanently deleted and not processed by any third-party services.
How it works?
When the host clicks to end the meeting, a two-step confirmation process begins.
Both the host and the guest have a one-minute grace period to decide.
During this time, either participant can choose to discard the recording.
If the recording is discarded, it is deleted immediately and will not be processed.
If no one discards it, the recording will automatically proceed to processing.
