Meeting observers enable secure, discreet access for trusted humans

Ovida's Meeting Observer feature grants trusted trainers, mentors, or coaches secure, controlled access to meetings.

How it works

A Meeting Observer can:

  • Join a live meeting.

    • Observers join unobtrusively, with their camera off and their microphone muted, enabling the 1:1 meeting to proceed without interruption, or the sense of "being watched". Meeting participants will be notified when an observer joins or leaves a session. This is particularly useful for trainers looking to switch seamlessly between concurrent meeting rooms where students are practicing, without disrupting the flow of the meetings.

    • An observer can elect to "go live" at any time, activiating their microphone and camera to give "in the moment" feedback. Once complete, they can revert back to silent mode.

    • Observers camera and microphone are not recorded when they go live, and the recording of the meeting participants pauses. This means that the integrity of the 1:1 meeting recording and transcripts are preserved, unlike the process with commercial video platforms, where the third party's interjections are recorded, disrupting the recording and the transcripts.

  • Access the Meeting Review page and give feedback

What Meeting Observers can and cannot do

  • There is no limit on the number of Meeting Observers in a meeting

  • Meeting Observers cannot download meeting records.

  • Meeting Observers can be added or removed by the Meeting Host or a Team Owner or Team Admin.

  • A Meeting Observer is added to only one meeting at a time.
